Ο άνθρωπος είναι ένα σκοινί, τεντωμένο ανάμεσα στο κτήνος και τον Υπεράνθρωπο –

ένα σκοινί πάνω απ΄την άβυσσο.

Ένα επικίνδυνο πέρασμα,

ένα επικίνδυνο πάνω-στο-μονοπάτι,

ένα επικίνδυνο πισωκοίταγμα, 

μία επικίνδυνη ανατριχίλα, τρεμούλα

και σταμάτημα.

Αυτό που είναι μεγάλο στον άνθρωπο είναι ότι είναι μία γέφυρα
